第49回 蔵王坊平クロスカントリー大会 2026

The Zao Bodaira Cross Country Race takes place in August at Zao Bodaira Athlete Village in Yamagata Prefecture, situated approximately 1,000 meters above sea level. Participants compete on natural grass courses at Zao Bodaira Cross Country Course and Zao Green Ground. The elevation provides cooler temperatures during this midsummer event compared to many other races held in Japan at the same time of year. The event features short cross-country races for elementary, junior high, junior, and senior participants, with distances ranging from 1.5 km to 6 km. A five-leg, 14.2 km relay marathon was introduced starting with the 7th edition. Entrants have the option to compete in both an individual race and the relay. The race has also invited guest runners with Hakone Ekiden experience, including athletes associated with the renowned mountain-climb fifth stage.
