The Long Run - Fall Back is the autumn version of a timed trail race at Jacobsburg State Park near Wind Gap, Pennsylvania. It uses a give-or-take 5 mile loop, with runners choosing either one lap, a 3 hour run, or a 6 hour run. The surface mixes single track with flat, quick gravel, and each loop adds about 450 feet of elevation change.
The Fall Back race uses the same loop as the Spring Forward edition, but sends runners around it in the opposite direction. That makes it familiar without being identical for people who run both editions. The event also builds in a zero-carbon setup: The Running Kind subsidizes event offsets, registration includes a personal travel offset fee, and the race supports a Change Climate Project offset project. Runners can also donate to the Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center, Sneakers4Good, and The Center For Animal Health and Welfare. The Fall Back records show how far the timed fields can go, with 40 miles in the 6 hour race and 20 miles in the 3 hour race.
