3. Pöstlingberg Classic

The Pöstlingberg Classic serves as the opening stage of the Raiffeisen Oberösterreich Rundfahrt, a multi-day road cycling race held in Upper Austria. The entire event covers 455.2 kilometers with a total elevation gain of 7,250 meters, catering to diverse rider types. While sprinters will find opportunities, the course also presents significant challenges for climbers. This particular stage begins at Linz Hauptplatz and spans just 4.3 kilometers. However, it culminates with a 250-meter ascent to the Pöstlingberg, overlooking Linz. This demanding uphill finish has the potential to divide the peloton early on. The climb itself is noted for its historical significance; Victor De La Parte secured a victory here before going on to win the Tour of Austria. The organizers refer to the climb as legendary, and its inclusion as a stage finish provides a distinct local point of reference from the outset.
