Mackay Cycles XCO Series 1 2026

Mackay Cycles XCO Series 1 is an afternoon cross-country mountain bike race in Mackay, Queensland, organized by MAD MTB Club with Mackay Cycles as sponsor. It caters to a wide age range, not just a single category: senior riders, juniors, e-bike riders, Under 15s, Under 13s, Under 11s, Under 9s, and Dirtmachines riders aged three to seven each have designated times. The main A, B, C, D, U15, and e-bike grades compete on a course approximately 4 to 6 kilometres per lap. The U11 and U13 riders use a shorter version of the senior track, about 1.5 kilometres. The youngest Dirtmachines group participates in a supervised 15-minute ride on the MTB 101 course, contributing to a club-wide race atmosphere rather than a senior-focused event. Course marshals and sweep riders are present, and racing commences once sufficient marshals are positioned. The schedule progresses from plate collection and children's rides to junior races, followed by senior and e-bike categories, with podium presentations later in the afternoon.
