Hobart Marathon Festival
The Hobart Marathon Festival takes place on Tasmania's waterfront during autumn, with the Derwent River to one side and kunanyi/Mount Wellington overlooking the city. It is a road-running festival featuring a full marathon, half marathon, 10km, 5km run, 5km walk, and 2km fun run and walk. This event accommodates marathoners, club runners, walkers, and families opting for shorter distances. The main course involves two laps of central Hobart, passing Constitution Dock, the Salamanca Wharves, and the riverfront. Participants benefit from quiet streets, cool autumn air, pacers, bag drop services, and nutrition and hydration stations, suitable for both first-time participants and experienced runners seeking a consistent performance. Atlas Events organizes the festival. The race is a full member of AIMS, and its community initiatives include fundraising for Variety and support for the Indigenous Marathon Foundation.
