The Lembecker Galgenberglauf is a long-standing community race starting at Wandererparkplatz Napoleonsweg, based at Forsthof Hohe Mark in Dorsten-Lembeck. It has taken place for over 40 years within the Hohe Mark Nature Park, featuring a main 10 km race across gently rolling forest paths.
The event also offers options for younger participants and walkers: a 400 m Bambini run, 1 km and 2 km races for age groups U10 to U16, a 5 km run, and 5 km and 10 km routes for walking and Nordic walking. The location is central to the event's character; all routes traverse the wooded Galgenberg area instead of town streets, giving it the feel of a local forest run rather than a speed-focused road race.
