The Bodensee-Radmarathon circles Lake Constance, passing through Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, with Altenrhein, Switzerland, serving as the central hub. This September road cycling event offers various routes: the Bronze-Tour covers 80 km with 267 meters of elevation gain, the Silber-Tour is 150 km, the Gold-Tour is 220 km, and the Platin-Tour extends to 300 km with 2,376 meters of climbing. Additionally, 50 km and 80 km gravel routes are available for those seeking an alternative to the main road courses.
The event has a history spanning over 50 years and is managed by RV Altenrhein through volunteer efforts, truly organized by cyclists for cyclists. Participants can begin their journey from multiple points around the lake, such as Altenrhein, Tägerwilen, Stein am Rhein, Meersburg, and Kressbronn, a practical approach for an event covering the entire lake. Thousands of cyclists participate, ranging from dedicated long-distance athletes to recreational riders and novices, with assistance, clear directions, and refreshment stations positioned at five different points.
