The Uplengener Adventslauf is a long-standing cross-country race in Großoldendorf, held at Wald Hollesand in Uplengen-Großoldendorf. LG Uplengen organizes this event, which takes place in late autumn, aligning with its Advent theme. The race features multiple middle- and long-distance options, alongside a walking path, catering to children, youth, adults, masters, and walkers with appropriate distances.
The courses traverse the Hollesand forest and the Hollsand nature reserve, where terrain and weather conditions present a genuine cross-country challenge. The organizer states it is East Frisia's oldest cross-country run and one of the region's more established running events. Club athletes frequently use it to prepare for cross-country championships, while younger and adult runners can aim for personal bests or build stamina across various distances. Upon finishing, participants receive hot tea or coffee and cake; the support association of the Remels elementary school also provides coffee and cake.
