Austausch bewegt is a track-based running event in Leipzig, Germany, held on the Blaue Bahn at Leipzig University’s Faculty of Sport Science on Jahnallee. It is structured around laps rather than a fixed road distance, featuring a 400-metre run for children up to six and a main run for all other participants. Participants may walk, jog, or run, and the event emphasizes time in motion over achieving personal bests. Entry fees are modest, with distinct prices for different age groups, and registration can be completed online or on site for a small late fee.
The run benefits Leipziger Buendnis gegen Depression e. V., meaning each lap contributes to funding educational and counseling initiatives for individuals affected by depression and their families. The field comprises individuals with lived experience, family members, regular runners, and anyone seeking a relaxed approach to supporting mental health. Following the laps, participants receive certificates and are welcome to remain for refreshments, conversation, and information booths. A recent event saw 85 participants and generated 2,192.48 euros from entry fees, with LG eXa e.V. providing technical assistance.
