Berglauf is a German-language mountain and trail running calendar, featuring races on Alpine terrain from Flims Laax and Innsbruck to German mountains like the Pleß and Wallberg. The focus is mountain racing and trail running, with events from championship climbs to ultramarathon-style adventures and cup races with season-long standings.
The Swissalpine Ultramarathon, a 67-kilometer running event, uses Flims Laax as its home, offering four course options. Innsbruck’s Alpine Trailrun Festival attracts a large international field, with 9,000 registrations from 82 nations and a new race format offering 30,000 euros in prize money. The Wallberg-Berglauf is organized by Helmut Reitmeir, a four-time age-group mountain running world champion. Other Berglauf events direct runners toward famous peaks such as the Zugspitze, Matterhorn, Eiger, Mönch, Watzmann, and Pico del Teide.
