Eibsee-Herbstlauf Garmisch-Partenkirchen/Grainau 2026

The Eibsee-Herbstlauf is a small autumn race in Grainau, Bavaria, held on the last Sunday in October for over 40 years. This 12.2 km mountain and cross-country run starts from the Zugspitzbad or Kurhaus area in Grainau and finishes at Eibsee, featuring 370 meters of elevation gain. Nordic Walking is also available, making the event accessible to more than just runners focused on their times. The course ascends from the village towards a lake situated approximately 240 meters above Grainau. The north face of the Zugspitze mountain looms over the finish line. Typically, the event attracts a modest field of 101 to 300 participants. Sportclub Eibsee Grainau e.V. organizes the race and manages its own timing system. Registration options are flexible and primarily local, including online pre-registration, phone registration, in-person sign-ups before race day, and on-site registration on the day of the event.
