The Karlsfeld Triathlon takes place in mid-July in Karlsfeld, Upper Bavaria, Germany. It offers two race formats: a sprint and a short-distance event, each including swimming, cycling, and running. TSV Eintracht Karlsfeld organizes the competition, which caters to both recreational participants and age-group competitors, not exclusively elite athletes. The sprint race covers 0.75 km swimming, 26 km cycling, and a 5 km run. The short-distance race features a 1.5 km swim, a 46 km bike course, and a 10 km run.
The swim portion utilizes Karlsfeld's lakes and ponds before participants transition to cycling and running. This year marks the 36th edition of the race, which uses the motto “a distance for every taste.” The event attracts first-time triathletes, club members, and competitive age-group athletes. Approximately 570 participants are expected for each distance. The organizing club considers the weekend an annual highlight for over 1,000 athletes. A start-place transfer system allows registered participants to pass their entry to another individual via email if they are unable to compete, a practical feature for this community event.
