The Möhnesee Triathlon takes place in July at Möhnesee, North Rhine-Westphalia. It is now run under the AUO Mobility Solutions Corp. name, having previously been known as the BHTC Möhnesee Triathlon. This event is designed for amateur and age-group athletes, offering individual sprint, short-distance, and middle-distance races, alongside a sprint relay. The sprint consists of a 500-meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike ride, and a 5-kilometer run. The short distance comprises a 1.5-kilometer swim, a 40-kilometer bike ride, and a 10-kilometer run. The middle distance involves a 2-kilometer swim, a 70-kilometer bike ride, and a 15-kilometer run.
The competition is based around the lake. The day begins with an open-water swim, followed by the bike and run segments that circle Möhnesee. The sprint individual race attracts the largest number of participants, with approximately 400 expected starters. The short distance race has around 330 participants, and the middle distance race has about 170. Relay spots are limited to about 25 expected participants. Demand is high, leading to sell-outs for relay entries and other disciplines before the official race day. The event is organized by networX and is approved by the German Triathlon Union.
