Stuttgart-Strasbourg-Stuttgart is a two-day road cycling challenge from Stuttgart’s Marktplatz to Strasbourg and back the next day. Riders depart from Stuttgart town hall, stay overnight in a hotel near Strasbourg station, and then return to Stuttgart’s Geissstrasse by the Hans-im-Gluck-Brunnen. This is not a casual social ride; the field is limited to 50 active participants, the route is challenging, and the intended pace is approximately 25 km/h for the entire group.
The ride operates as a closed formation in pairs, guided by RTC riders who control the pace and cannot be overtaken. Extended climbs typically allow for individual pacing, where faster riders may exceed 27 km/h, but the remainder of the journey requires discipline and focus within the group. Refreshment stops occur approximately every 60 km, with a support vehicle transporting luggage and gear. Helmets are required, triathlon bars are prohibited, and only adequately prepared riders are admitted. The Strasbourg stop features a communal dinner, breakfast at the hotel, and a group photograph before the return journey.
