The Paderborner Martinslauf is a night street run through Paderborn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It takes place in autumn after dark, with separate starts for the 6 km and 10 km races. Both distances use the same approximately 2 km city loop: 6 km runners complete it three times, while 10 km runners complete it five times. The start and finish are on the market square before Paderborn Cathedral, beginning in the old city center.
The loop passes the Cathedral, City Hall, Marienplatz, Paderberg, the Paderquellgebiet, half-timbered houses on the Dielen, and the baroque City Library before climbing back toward Domplatz via Eselsberg. Runners also go through old-town alleys and cross bridges in the Paderquellgebiet, giving the short lap more turns and landmarks than a typical flat road circuit. The course is not officially measured, though local race experts test it beforehand. SC Grun-Weiss Paderborn organizes the race with the Osterlauf-Team and Laufladen Endspurt, and this is its tenth edition.
