RömerMan Ladenburg begins with athletes starting from a ship, a departure that sets this German triathlon apart from typical poolside or lakeside starts. Held in mid-July in Ladenburg, Baden-Württemberg, near Karlsruhe, the event features individual races and team relays. The main distance includes a 1.8 km swim, a 41 km road bike course, and a 10 km road run. The shorter distance comprises a 500 m swim, a 23 km road cycling course, and a 5 km road run.
The day follows a structured schedule: athletes check into transition before a mandatory briefing, then proceed to the ship for the start. Individual racers begin shortly before the relay teams. Organized by Ladenburger Sport-Vereinigung 1864 e.V., the event attracts a substantial local participation, with hundreds anticipated in the sprint and short-distance individual races, as well as relay teams. Post-race procedures involve collecting bikes with a transponder, followed by an evening awards ceremony and concluding with a finisher party.
