SWB Marathon Bremen 2026

The swb Marathon Bremen takes runners across Bremen’s metropolitan area on the first weekend in October. It is the city’s primary running event, held in autumn since 2006, featuring a 42.195-kilometre marathon, a half marathon, a 10 km race, and a children’s race. The marathon begins in the city centre and proceeds through Neustadt, past Lake Werdersee and the Weser weir, then toward Hastedt, Schwachhausen, Horn, Universum, Bürgerpark, Findorff, and Überseestadt. The final section returns to the Weser, follows the river along Schlachte to the wohninvest Weser Stadium, and then heads back toward the city-centre finish. Thousands of Bremen residents participate, and past editions have attracted enough runners that early registration is advised.
