Volksbank Schultriathlon Ahlen 2026

The Volksbank Schultriathlon Ahlen is a short school triathlon in Ahlen, North Rhine-Westphalia, for children in grades 3 to 6. It is part of the DTU Triathlon-Schultour, offering students a first attempt at the sport without adult race distances. The field is expected to be around 300 students, with capacity for up to 500. The format keeps the day moving in waves: 25 children start together, with new starts every 20 minutes from 8:30 AM. Athletik-Sport-Club Ahlen e.V. and the City of Ahlen organize the event, and spectators are welcome. The race is deliberately simple: 50 metres of swimming, 2 kilometres of cycling, and 500 metres of running, completed sequentially. The swim begins in the outdoor pool, the bike leg starts at the pool, and the second transition sends the children into Sportpark Nord for the run and finish. The event ran in Ahlen until 2019, then had a pause before returning with updates.
