Volkslauf um den Auesee 2026

The Volkslauf um den Auesee, also known as the Aueseelauf, is a Saturday running event held in Espelkamp, North Rhine-Westphalia, organized by ATSV Espelkamp. It is part of the Mühlenkreis Laufserie and includes several race distances: a 1.7 km Schüler-Lauf for school-aged participants, 5.3 km and 10.3 km races, and a longer course measured at approximately 18 km or 21.6 km, depending on the source. The start is located at the school grounds on Koloniestraße, with mentions of the Waldschule, Grundschule am Auewald, and the forest path along the extended Koloniestraße. The event combines road running with a scenic route around the Auesee area. It maintains a local club-race atmosphere: registration on the day of the event is open until 45 minutes before each race start, changing rooms and showers are available in the school's sports hall, and the top three finishers in each age category receive certificates, with school classes also able to request them.
