The Weinland-Gravel-Thon begins and ends at the Cannstatter Ski-Club in Stuttgart. Riders gather in the morning before guides assign them to pace groups. This is a guided gravel and mountain bike tour, not a solo race. Groups are formed based on desired average speed, ranging from 18 to 26 km/h. The primary route covers approximately 100 km with about 1,400 meters of elevation gain. A shorter Weinland-Panorama-Tour provides a nearly 50 km alternative for gravel riders, mountain bikers, and e-bike users.
The extended route crosses forests, meadows, and the steep vineyard paths surrounding Stuttgart, including a scheduled food stop midway. Current and former Stuttgardia cyclists participate with the groups, giving the event the character of a challenging club outing rather than a formal competition. The Panorama route features its own local points of interest, such as sections of Solitudeallee, the vineyards of Zuffenhausen and Feuerbach, the historic toboggan run from Feuerbach Valley to Doggenburg, and Bismarckturm.
