The Carrera Popular Villa de Grazalema is an 11 km road race held in Grazalema, a white mountain town within the Sierra de Cádiz. The adult race begins in the morning from Plaza de España, with children’s races taking place around midday. The event is organized by the Sports Department of Grazalema City Council. It typically occurs in November and has been held for over forty editions.
The route is an asphalt circuit through Grazalema’s streets, with the start and finish located in the same central square. Older course descriptions mention a steep uphill kilometer in town shortly after the start, and another brief town section during the descent, indicating it is not merely a flat loop. The race attracts local runners and athletics fans from the Cádiz province, featuring adult and children’s categories. The finish control remains open for 90 minutes after the start.
