La Miguel Indurain - Corta is the short cyclotourist version of the Miguel Indurain cycling event in Navarra, based in Estella-Lizarra. The event honors Miguel Indurain, the Navarrese rider who won the Tour de France five times. Club Ciclista Estella organizes the race program. Its professional counterpart, the Gran Premio Miguel Indurain, is Navarra’s only classic race, attracting international teams for a demanding one-day competition of approximately 200 km with 3,500 meters of elevation gain.
The cycling centers on Estella-Lizarra, a historic market town on the Camino de Santiago. The professional route begins and ends there, returning through town multiple times. The full course features the climbs of Guiguillano, Lezaun, and Riezu, along with roads near the Alloz reservoir and the monasteries of Irache and Irantzu. Irache offers a local peculiarity: its renowned fountain dispenses wine. With hundreds of spectators near the finish, even the shorter cyclotourist ride takes place in a setting defined by significant climbing, local cycling heritage, and Miguel Indurain’s legacy.
