L’Espaseta Backyard 2026

L’Espaseta Backyard sends runners from the sports area in Bellpuig on the same 6.7 km loop, hour after hour. It follows the Backyard Ultra format: finish the lap within the hour, rest with any remaining time, then start again. The event is run in October, but it is not an official Backyard Ultra because it stops at 33 laps instead of continuing until only one runner remains. The loop starts and finishes in town, mixing Bellpuig’s urban streets with rural paths and dirt tracks. The route has little elevation gain and no major technical sections, so the challenge comes more from repetition, pacing, and fatigue than from tricky terrain. Runners’ comments point to careful organization, clear signage, attentive volunteers, strong aid stations, a good shirt, and a village feel where people cheer as if the race were a shared test among friends.
