The Medio Maratón San Sebastián Rural Kutxa, a half marathon in San Sebastián, saw nearly 4,000 runners participate in its fourth edition. The race took place in the rain, with Artur Bossy and Irene Pelayo securing the victories. Bossy claimed his first txapela, the Basque winner’s beret, following a men’s race that remained controlled for an extended period before accelerating sharply near the end.
The decisive action occurred around Anoeta stadium, close to the fifteen-kilometer mark, when Iraitz Arrospide increased the tempo, with only Bossy and Unai Arroyo able to keep pace. Arrospide attempted to break away from Bossy, but the conclusion was decided by a sprint, Bossy finishing one second ahead in 1:06:21, and Arroyo taking third place in 1:06:50. The women’s race had anticipated a contest between Pelayo and Elena Loyo, but Pelayo ran much of the event solo, winning in 1:13:50.
