Paralelo28 Entremontañas is a mountain-running series held in La Aldea de San Nicolás, on Gran Canaria's western edge. The event includes Vertical, Short, Medium, and Ultra distances, along with children's races, catering to young runners, developing athletes, and experienced trail runners. The shorter courses are challenging: the 11 km race ascends over 450 meters, the 16 km youth route gains more than 720 meters, and the 24 km race climbs approximately 1,185 to 1,206 meters, varying by category and route.
The race takes place in a rocky, dry, steep, and remote landscape with very stony trails through protected areas of the island's Biosphere Reserve. The routes traverse locations like Tamadaba, El Nublo, and La Inagua. The medium course ascends Degollada de Tasarte and Inagua before descending through El Blanquizal. Local organizers consider it the primary mountain race in the municipality, connecting demanding trail running with the preservation of rural heritage in a secluded Gran Canaria setting.
