Race Across Espagne begins in Santander, on Spain’s north coast in Cantabria, and takes place in September as a long-distance cycling challenge. Riders select from multiple route lengths: 212 km, 307 km, 504 km, and up to approximately 1,000 km for the full crossing to Riba-Roja near Valencia. The format is semi-autonomous, meaning riders navigate a point-to-point endurance ride, utilizing provided support points.
The routes showcase diverse Spanish landscapes, from the Atlantic coast near Santander, through mountains and arid inland regions, to the Mediterranean side of the country. Both road and gravel cyclists have choices, broadening the event's appeal beyond pure road ultras. The start and finish locations are conveniently situated near airports, aiding international participants. As part of the Race Across Series, the event attracts endurance cyclists from across Europe, with aid stations and staffed support areas designed to facilitate the adventure while maintaining a self-managed character.
