San Silvestre Complutense is a year-end road race in Alcalá de Henares, a university city near Madrid. Over 1,300 runners participate across all categories. The main race is a 10K for participants aged 14 and older. The day begins and ends at the Antonio Fernández Ortiz athletics track within the Municipal Sports City of El Val, offering a city race feel with a stadium-style start and finish.
Younger participants have their own races prior to the main event. Infantiles and alevines compete in a 1,600-meter race, while benjamines run 1,100 meters. The 10K route winds through Alcalá, reaching Reyes Católicos, then returning through the historic center before finishing back on the track in El Val. The event is part of the municipal leisure program Otra Forma de Moverte. Dancers from the Patricia Roncero School and music by DJ Lekai contribute to the New Year’s Eve atmosphere.
