Cross des Loups is a winter race day held on the football field at Bruyères-et-Montbérault, in the Aisne department of Hauts-de-France. It combines cross-country races with short trail options: adults can choose the 7.8 km cross, the 10 km trail, or the 18 km Trail des As, and an 8 km walk is also available. The event accommodates a wide age range, not just adult runners, with children's races from 400 m for the youngest categories up to 800 m, 1.25 km, 2.5 km, and cadet races.
The morning features trail and walking events, with the 10 km trail and 8 km walk starting first, followed by the 18 km trail. Cross-country races commence later, beginning with juniors, espoirs, seniors, and masters, then proceeding through younger age groups in the early afternoon. The Cross des Loups is in its fifth edition, and the Trail des Loups is in its third, establishing a local cadence without the feel of a large-scale production. A jersey is provided for the first 200 registered runners in the junior-to-master cross and trail categories. The setup is straightforward: start and finish on the football field, with on-site toilets and no published GPS route from the organizer.
