Denivelé de Noël is a Christmas-season trail race in Bouleternère, a village in the Pyrénées-Orientales, featuring a challenging 17 km course with 1,000 meters of elevation gain. Established in 2017, the organization recently transitioned from Les sentiers du Boulès to three local villagers. Approximately 300 runners participate in the trail race, accompanied by a separate group of about 70 registered hikers who follow without official bibs.
The race begins at the Dolmen between Bouleternère and Casefabre, proceeds towards the mas de la Salvetat, crosses a wide area of olive groves, passes the bergerie de Can Bassols, and follows the old path from Corsavy to Vinça before concluding back in Bouleternère. The walking route is shorter yet still demanding, initially stated as 8 km but closer to 10 km, with roughly 400 meters of climbing from the Dolmen to the Quere crest. An organizer mentioned the goal of involving more young people in the project to ensure the race continues to serve the village as both a sporting event and a social occasion.
