The Embusquade Trail begins at the La Courbe leisure center in Busque, a village in the Tarn department of southwest France, on the first Sunday in February. This local trail-running event in the Gaillacois area offers three distances: 31 km with approximately 1,100 m of elevation gain, 17 km with about 520 m, and 11 km with around 300 m. The longest race starts first, followed by the 17 km and then the 11 km, structuring the day around runners returning in stages.
The courses follow paths near Busque and Puybegon, with access granted by about thirty landowners and trail maintenance by a small volunteer team. The 17 km can be completed individually or in pairs, and the shortest distance is also available for Nordic walking and hiking, broadening the event beyond just runners. Pieds Begon organizes the race, now in its eighth year. Children’s activities begin later in the morning, prizes are awarded to the top five male and female finishers in each race, and local partners supply numerous awards. The event also recognizes Les Joëlettes du cœur, an organization supporting children with disabilities in participating in races.
