The French Ergs Series is an indoor fitness race held at Stade Pierre de Coubertin, centered on three Concept2 machines rather than roads, trails, or obstacle courses. The race occurs in winter, and its format draws from Hyrox, CrossFit, and triathlon. Athletes cycle through RowErg, SkiErg, and BikeErg segments in a timed sequence that primarily assesses endurance and pacing.
The standard solo race consists of 2,500 meters on the rower, 2,500 meters on the SkiErg, and 10,000 meters on the bike, with an expected completion time of 40 to 60 minutes. Pairs complete the same total distance by dividing the work, while three-person relay teams assign one member to each machine; both team formats are estimated at 30 to 45 minutes. A shorter solo sprint is also available: 750 meters row, 750 meters ski, and 3,000 meters bike, designed for a more intense, quicker effort of approximately 15 to 25 minutes. The competition is open to both beginners and experienced athletes. The event also includes an elimination-style competition called Erg Chase for those seeking the most competitive format.
