Le Dernier Homme Debout Sens begins in Malay-le-Grand, located in the Yonne valley near Sens. It takes place in March as a trail race utilizing a 7.7 km loop with 260 m of elevation gain. The name translates to “Last Man Standing,” and the primary 7.7 km race employs a backyard ultra format where participants repeatedly run the same loop until only one runner remains.
The event also features La Malaysienne, a 14 km trail discovery race with 520 m of elevation gain, and a 77.7 km trail option. While the route is short on paper, it is hilly for its distance. Consequently, the repeated-loop format emphasizes pacing and recovery between laps as much as outright speed.
