Matinées cyclistes en Terre des Brouilly closes the road up Mont Brouilly to cars so cyclists can climb it in peace. The free morning ride is based in Saint-Lager, France, with riders meeting at Espace des Brouilly on Route des Brouilly. CT Formidable organizes it three Sundays per year, with the road reserved from early morning until noon.
The climb is about 5 km to the summit of Mont Brouilly, and riders can treat it as a single ascent or take on challenges of three to six climbs. Volunteers from CT Formidable wait at the top with refreshments. The event is sponsored by French riders Guillaume Martin and Paul Seixas, but the format is simple: local cyclists, hill-climb regulars, and anyone who wants a car-free shot at the Brouilly slopes share the same closed road.
