Trail des étoiles - Molines-en-Queyras 2026

Trail des étoiles is a summer trail-running series in the Queyras Alps, based around Molines-en-Queyras and Saint-Véran near the French-Italian border. The event offers four courses, including two high-mountain routes, with some runners going above 3,000 meters on ridges and cols rather than staying on lower valley paths. It is a young race, with only a handful of editions, and it also sits within the Challenge des Trails de Provence. The routes use the hard, open mountain terrain around the Tête des Toillies, with passages over the cols of La Noire, Longet, and Blanchet. The short trail can run as a 36 km route with 2,200 m of climbing and a 3,000 m ridge section between Col Saint-Véran and Pic de Caramantran, while the long trail stretches to 62 km with 4,100 m of climbing on a Franco-Italian line. That longer course includes the rocky Colle del Lupo at 3,025 m and a mountain aid station in Chianale, a stone village across the border in Italy.
