The Trail du Saintois begins at the Stade du Haut Barmont, near the Vézelise collège, guiding trail runners into this Meurthe-et-Moselle town each spring. Now in its tenth year, the event attracts over 600 runners, offering three routes for adults and two for children. Adult distances are 22 km, 12 km, and 5 km, with younger participants competing in 2.7 km and 800 m races. Electronic chips handle timing, and pre-registration is required.
The courses traverse the Saintois countryside surrounding Vézelise, featuring rolling paths, technical trail segments, forest tracks, and passages through villages. The event functions as a local, family-oriented trail day alongside a competitive race. Food is available at the venue, and Les Etoiles du Saintois provides childcare for ages 3 to 15 during the races. This arrangement allows parents to participate while their children are supervised, aligning with the inclusion of both adult trail distances and shorter races for kids.
