Triathlon de Bordeaux is a weekend triathlon held in the Jallère district of Bordeaux-Lac, Bordeaux, Gironde, France, typically in early September. It is designed as an open event, welcoming children, beginners, club athletes, relay teams, and corporate groups alongside elite competitors.
The program includes Youth races for ages 6-9 and 10-13, as well as XS, S, M, and L formats, allowing participants to pursue a first triathlon or a longer-distance goal within the same weekend.
The shorter adult races feature compact looped courses. The S distance comprises a 750 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run, utilizing two 10 km bike loops and five 1 km run loops. The XS distance includes a 400 m swim, 11 km bike, and 2.5 km run. Drafting is permitted in the S and M races, contributing to a pack-racing dynamic on the bike course. Les Girondins de Bordeaux Triathlon organizes the event; the club was established in 2009. The club's broader activities shape the weekend's atmosphere, as it trains beginners and experienced athletes, operates a triathlon school for youth, and promotes duathlon, aquathlon, and bike-and-run events.
