Denby Dash Junior Races 2026

The 10th annual Denby Dash Junior Races will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026. Fancy dress is optional. There are two races for children. The Denby Gallop is a 1-mile race for children up to 8 years old, with children under 6 requiring adult accompaniment. This race features a scenic loop on tracks and fields, including a 140-foot climb and a fast finish. The Pirate Ship Challenge is a 2-mile race for children aged 9-16 years. The course runs over fields and conservation land, with a 240-foot climb to a pirate ship, followed by a fast return route. Both courses will be marked and marshalled. All junior finishers will receive ice cream. Medals will be awarded to the top three boys and girls in each race, and in specific age categories. Prizes will also be given for the best fancy dress. The event is located in Upper Denby, Huddersfield. Live music and refreshment stalls will be available at The George Inn. The event raises funds for the Denby Village Conservation Group.
