Race for Life Cambridge begins and ends on the grass at Jesus Green in Cambridge, with the start scheduled for 11:00 am. This event is part of Cancer Research UK's Race for Life series, a collection of events where participants run, jog, or walk, distinct from traditional club races. Cambridge provides 5K and 10K distances, and the overall series also features Pretty Muddy obstacle events. Funds raised contribute to research on all 200 types of cancer.
The Cambridge course incorporates tarmac, grass, and cobbles, proceeding through the city centre, past Market Square, across the grounds of King's College, and returning to Jesus Green. The event welcomes participants of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, meaning walkers, novices, families, and regular runners share the same route. Many attendees wear a card to commemorate someone affected by cancer. Race for Life originated in Battersea Park with 750 participants and expanded into a UK-wide fundraising series; it was exclusively for women for many years before opening to all.
