Run The Blades 2026

Run The Blades takes participants through Whitelee Wind Farm, the UK’s largest onshore wind farm, located a short drive from central Glasgow. This event offers a trail and run/walk race weekend featuring a Friday evening 10K, a Saturday 50K Ultra and a kids’ 1-mile race, followed by a Sunday half marathon. The scale is significant for trail running, positioning it among the largest trail events in the UK. The routes are contained within the wind farm, providing a setting distinct from town-road races or mountain events. Runners navigate through mixed moorland and forest, with wind turbines visible along sections of the course. The variety of distances attracts a broad range of participants, from under-16 children and 10K runners to half-marathoners and ultra runners competing in the 50K.
