The Sheffield Half Marathon begins and ends in Sheffield city centre, marking South Yorkshire's largest half marathon. Thousands of participants, ranging from club runners aiming for a specific time to individuals running for charitable causes, will compete. Entrants must be at least 17 years old on race day.
The route leads runners from the city centre towards Ringinglow, offering views of the Peak District from the elevated terrain. A Peaks Challenge incorporates a distinct triple event within the race, featuring a timed ascent and a timed 10K descent. Participants receive chip timing, a medal, and a goody bag. The event also implements recycling bins at water stations and collects used trainers near the Race Office as part of its environmental initiative.
