The Apollonian Race is a 10.5 km trail run in the Heraklion area of Crete, connecting Pirouniana and Agia Barbara. This is the second edition, organized by the Pirouniana Cultural Association. The race takes place in the late afternoon, with a two-and-a-half-hour window for completion.
Participants begin at St. Panteleimon chapel near Prinia village and conclude at Holy Spirit Church in Agia Barbara. The course features a net elevation drop of 77 meters, indicating it is not a strenuous mountain race, but it remains a trail event. Buses are provided to transport runners to the start, electronic timing is employed, and all finishers are awarded a commemorative t-shirt, medal, and diploma.
