The Bükk Maraton begins at the abbey in Bélapátfalva, located in Hungary’s Bükk region. The race center is situated by the lower quarry yard near the monastery. This mountain bike marathon features multiple starts, not a single field. Pedelec riders compete over 58 km, the main long course spans 83 km, the middle course is 58 km, the short course covers 28 km, and the mini course is 14 km. The event is listed on both the XCM PRO TOUR and the MKSZ Hungarian Cup calendar, attracting riders aiming for series points alongside those selecting a distance suited to their abilities.
The event's structure provides a more extensive feel than a typical adult race. A Bükk Outdoor Sport EXPO takes place throughout the weekend. Race numbers can be collected before race morning, and participants receive a technical briefing prior to their start. Younger children have their own Titán Kupa for U7, U9, U11, and U13 categories on the day preceding the main races, drawing families to the race village early. Awards are presented in two separate ceremonies: first for mini, short, and pedelec riders, followed later by the middle and long-course categories. Ferencz Péter, the mayor of Bélapátfalva, acts as the race’s primary patron.
