On the northernmost hillside of the Dunakanyar, FUTABUDA places you on mountain terrain suited for running. The course is shaded and traditional, featuring gradual ascents and descents beneath a dense canopy of large trees, followed by a cool, deep stream valley with a wild, romantic atmosphere. Expect a runnable trail, not a difficult slog, with sufficient elevation changes to challenge your legs and enough shade to make summer forest running feasible. Men and women compete separately for route records, with cash prizes for any who break them. Age-group awards extend to the oldest finishers. You may change your chosen route just before the start, but not after beginning the race.
