The BOclassic South Tyrol is a New Year's Eve road race held in Bolzano, South Tyrol. It starts and finishes on Walther Square, adjacent to the Christmas Market. The race takes place on the final afternoon of the year, utilizing a 1,250-metre circuit through the historic city center. The event includes races for Just for Fun, Adults, Youth, and Elite categories, allowing amateur runners to compete on the same course as international professionals.
Adult participants race 5 km, while youth runners complete one or two laps based on their age group. Elite women compete over 5 km, and elite men race 10 km. The course winds through the Christmas Market, Piazza delle Erbe, Via dei Portici, Piazza della Stazione, and WaltherPark before concluding back at Walther Square. The Just for Fun race accommodates families, relay teams, participants with pushchairs, dogs (leashed and muzzled), and individuals in Santa Claus costumes. The elite race is broadcast on large screens. This event has marked the close of the sporting year in Bolzano since 1974 and also inaugurates the South Tyrol Top 7 running series.
