La Sportiva Lavaredo Ultra Trail by UTMB®

The Lavaredo 20K begins and ends on Corso Italia in Cortina d'Ampezzo, starting at 5 pm to catch the sunset light on the Dolomites. It is the shortest race in the La Sportiva Lavaredo Ultra Trail by UTMB series, yet organizers call it the "nastiest" choice: 20 kilometers, 1,000 meters of elevation gain, featuring steep ascents and technical descents. Participants have 4 hours to complete the course. The route is designed for mountain runners capable of managing sharp elevation changes, not for those seeking a simple short-distance trail race. This event marks its 11th edition. Race logistics are strictly enforced: athletes must pick up their bib and race pack in person at the Olympic Ice Stadium with valid ID, wear the bib visibly throughout the race, and are prohibited from having animals accompany them, with immediate disqualification for violations. Mandatory equipment may be adjusted based on the weather forecast, with organizers potentially announcing changes up to 12 hours before the start.
