Botnantrampen 2026

Botnantrampen is a trail race organized annually by Botnan IL, featuring challenging routes across roads, forest paths, boggy ground, and mountain terrain. It accommodates various skill levels, offering a 13.4 km main course, a 6.7 km short course, and Minitrampen, a approximately 3 km route primarily on roads and clear trails. The event adheres to NFIF rules and guidelines for recreational races. The long course includes around 280 m of elevation gain, and the short course has about 150 m, demanding more than just flat-road speed. Race accounts depict it as a wet struggle through forest, bog, and mountain, with heavy rain and saturated ground intensifying the difficulty. While the field size can be modest, participants are dedicated; one particularly wet edition saw 58 starters, with 30 completing the timed race. Local participation is significant, with Botnan IL brothers Nils Johannes and John Magnus Foss Bruun securing the top two positions, and newcomer Ine Instanes winning the women's race ahead of more experienced competitors.
