Fedrelandet Backyard 2026

Fedrelandet Backyard begins at Fethallen in Fetsund at 08:00 on a late-November Saturday, with runners starting in the half-dark. This is a backyard-style race offering 6-hour and 12-hour options. Each hour, runners must complete a 6.7 km loop to remain in the race; anyone missing the time limit is eliminated. The shorter option provides an accessible introduction to the format, while the 12-hour option challenges experienced ultra runners to repeat the same distance repeatedly. The loop is flat, following the Glomma river and passing Fetsund Lenser, a location where a Christmas market draws spectators to the course. Fet IL organizes the event. The inaugural edition saw 82 starters from 91 entries, comprising experienced ultrarunners and local recreational runners. Twenty-four runners finished all 12 rounds, with others using the 6-hour version as a less demanding entry into backyard racing.
