レースについて
Mt Karioi provides the Rugged Rogaine 3 with an authentic off-road character, featuring forestry, farmland, and the "beautiful Waikato countryside" as its main attractions. This rogaine serves as a special fundraiser; all proceeds, excluding ONZ levies, support the Karioi Project, giving it the atmosphere of a community event with a purpose as evident as the map.
This event is less a marked-course race and more an adventure sport. Participants will "practice map reading and navigation," traverse varied terrain, and aim to "find as many controls as they can" within the time limit. While solo participants are welcome, teams form a significant aspect of the day, with men's, women's, mixed, and junior categories discussing their strategies upon finishing.
