Henderson Park hosts The Henderson Shuffle, a 12-hour running and walking endurance event. Its core principle is straightforward: keep moving, rest as needed, and "complete as many laps as they choose." The loop incorporates cycleways, a bush trail, and sections along Henderson Creek. The event village is situated on Wilsher Crescent, close to essential amenities for participants: toilets, water, first aid, food, and coffee.
The course is largely flat, featuring a mix of sealed paths, natural trail, and some gravel. The challenge arises not from a single steep ascent, but from the participant's choice of how much of the day to commit. It is suitable for runners, walkers, individuals new to endurance events, families, and seasoned athletes using the format to prepare for longer races. There are "no cut-off times or minimum pace requirements." Hourly spot prizes are awarded, all participants receive medals irrespective of distance covered, and a Four-Legged Runners Category is included for those accompanied by a dog.
