At 11:11 a.m., the main field of Bieg Niepodległości Warszawa starts in Warsaw after participants sing the Polish anthem. The primary race is a fast, flat 10 km road run. A Nordic Walking event covers approximately 5 to 6.5 km, and a companion Mila Niepodległości race is 1918 m. It is Poland's largest patriotic race, with its timing and distances directly linked to Polish independence.
The course follows major Warsaw streets, including Al. Jana Pawła II, Krakowskie Przedmieście, and Nowy Świat, then crosses Most Poniatowskiego to finish at PGE Narodowy. Prior to the start, thousands of runners assemble in white and red, forming a human Polish flag. Fundacja Maraton Warszawski organizes the event, and runners receive free public transport access with their race number.
